Psalm 32 Psalm 32 is a reminder of God’s gracious and free gift of forgiveness offered to those who turn to him in genuine confession and repentance. Our knowledge of the mercy of God moves us to pray, humbly submit, and gladly follow him on the path of joy.

Psalm 121 (Guest Preacher Roy Garza) Psalm 121 is a testimony to God’s faithfulness to comfort and support his people. He helps those who can not help themselves, and provides the surest help of all – his Son, Jesus Christ.

Psalm 23 Three promises are true for those of whom the Lord is their shepherd: God’s peace, God’s presence, and God’s protection. Each of these promises are given to us in Christ. Psalm 23 paints a picture of the character of Christ as our good shepherd.

Psalm 2 From the glory of God’s word to the glory of God’s Son, Psalm 2 admonishes its readers to consider the futility of holding God’s word his anointed, and thus God himself, in contempt. We must find ourselves loyal subjects to the King, or be defeated as enemies of his Kingdom.

Psalm 1 In the opening chapter to the Book of Psalms, we see how the Psalms help shape our emotions and anchor us in the truth — by the word of God as the foundation of life and path toward God Himself.

Sin causes us to distrust the promises of God and the faithfulness of God’s character, ultimately forcing isolation from God’s nearness. Through the story of Joshua 7, we learn the seriousness of sin and holiness of God, and treasure in Christ’s provision to secure for his people God’s presence.

The gruesome narrative of Jesus’ suffering and death may lead some to wonder if all that suffering wasn’t a bit excessive, necessary, or even evil. But the prophet Isaiah understood that the savior’s suffering was indeed necessary, and even carried out by God’s own hand.
